Let me start off by saying that something inside me hates that you have to distinguish which Washington you’re talking about. At least I have had to when I told the handful of people, before today, about moving to Washington with my girlfriend and our bad, fat cat.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m not, nor have I ever been, a big fan of California, let alone Sacramento. In fact, the only place I’ve ever really wanted to live in California is San Fransico. Now I don’t work at a startup, nor any of the major tech companies like Intel, Google, or Microsoft, so I can’t actually afford to live in or near SF. All that being said my girlfriend isn’t a huge fan of this place herself. So we started looking for something new, something new and exciting. Washington was it, and so we requested job transfers and started looking for a new place.

I can’t say that this all isn’t a bit scary in its own way, as we don’t have the keys to a new place in hand. However, we’ve been told that all we actually need to do is walk in, sign a lease, and we are all set. This is after filling out apps, putting holding deposits down, and jumping through all the other fun hoops that come with moving. All in all, though we’re both excited for this change. It’s another new chapter and all that cliched jazz.

I’ve actually gotten my creative gears going, I’ve been writing, working on a regular comic panel that I’ve been sharing on Instagram. I also finalized a small portfolio and have started doing photo gigs again, and hope to start doing some smaller film productions as soon as we move up north and settle in. For now, you can check out some of my work at www.greystonestudios.org. My girlfriend has been doing more art, and she’s got us on a regular exercise routine, which sucks! OK, I may be a mild drama queen, but all I’m getting at is that exercise is hard, and it just sucks for me. But it’ll do us both a lot of good. Though we’re still in California this move and change in our life from what we’ve become accustomed to has really revitalized us and it’s already doing a lot of good.

An old co-worker also said something to me today. It’s something that I had already thought about, but hadn’t committed any real thought or time to, but I won’t be in Sacramento anymore, so I’ll have to, well I should, change the name of this blog. I’m not sure to what, though. If you have any suggestions, outside of Sleepless in Seattle, please let me know in the comments.

For the moment I think that’s it. Life is changing and I can’t wait for it to happen. When the move actually happens, in July, I’ll do my best to get some shots and maybe some video from the trip up north and post it.
